I've been so inspired since going to Write About Now Poetry Here's another one I wrote and recently "spit". It is inspired by Marilyn Manson's song "We're From America" and the Black Lives Matter movement. Every single one of these people are real, all of these events are from the past 5-10 years, some are even more recent.
To those hurting, I see you, may you find peace.

Officer Montrell Jackson, 32, was shot and killed yesterday, in Americaaa
Little Tyshawn Lee, 9, was killed by gang violence yesterday
Private LaVena Johnson, 20, was raped and murdered, and it was covered up yesterday
I want to be a martyr, don't want to be a victim,
Be a killer with a gun so they call me a hero.
